Jump Ninja is a firm believer that bouncing on a trampoline regularly can help increase your body’s metabolic rate, and its ability to burn calories more efficiently. With the resulting G-force felt when exercising on a trampoline, your cells become stronger, thus allowing your immune cells to be up to five times more active. A boosted immune system helps keep your body’s natural defences high, staving off illnesses like cold, flu and other viral infections.
A study carried out by NASA found that 10 minutes bouncing on a trampoline is a better cardiovascular workout than 33 minutes of running. The report said the “for similar levels of heart rate and oxygen consumption, the magnitude of the bio-mechanical stimuli is greater with jumping on a trampoline than with running.” Jump Ninja is a great advocate of cardiovascular fitness that requires minimal impact.
Trampolining can help reduce the risk of bone conditions such as brittle bone disease, fractures and osteoporosis. Placing the musculoskeletal system under frequent slight stress while you jump allows your bones to become stronger and adapt to the pressure of bouncing recoil. The trampoline pad absorbs the majority of the impact, so your bones and joints are protected while you exercise.
The Jump Ninja experience allows for an all-round body workout without the risk of injury to your joints, particularly in your ankles and knees. Although trampolining provides an intense workout for the muscles and bones, the mat or pad absorbs 80 per cent of the shock from the bouncing recoil. This is especially beneficial for people with less mobility or people undergoing rehabilitation. Jump Ninja wants jumpers with varying physicality to enjoy the benefits of the trampoline.
Bouncing on a trampoline increases awareness of your body and a sense of balance and coordination. You learn to control the coordination of the arms and legs while bouncing and to adjust the position of your body accordingly. Improved co-ordination and fine motor skills can assist in other sports that require a lot of hand-eye and general co-ordination. Gymnasts and acrobats also use trampolines to improve their co-ordination in aerial skills and tumbles.
Trampolining can help combat depression, anxiety and stress by increasing the amount of endorphins released by the brain. Regular rebounding sessions can help you relax, promote better sleeping patterns and give your more energy. Exercising on a trampoline increases the circulation of oxygen around your body, making you more alert and improving mental performance. Like a Jump Ninja.
Research has shown that children with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome can benefit from regular exercise, and that trampolining in particular can provide many additional benefits. Sitting or bouncing on a trampoline can help to increase coordination by improving their bilateral motor skills. Trampolining itself is a very gentle form of exercise due to the fact that the bouncy trampoline pad soaks up a large proportion of the impact.
The activity of trampolining can provide children with a great sense of fun and well-being. Being outside allows children to get fresh air and sunlight, both of which provide their own health benefits. And allowing siblings to join in with the trampoline fun can also help to provide huge social benefits to children with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.
